This Year's Theme: Civic Duty

Muir School's theme this year is "Civic Duty". Muir students will look at what people can do to make a positive difference in the classroom, at school, in the community, and in the world. At Muir we believe that each person can make difference and that each small step is important. Muir's entry to GlobalSchoolnet this year will be in Category 1, Local Leaders.

"Civic" is "having to do with a city or the people who live there" according to the Wiktionary. Do you have a better definition or source?

"Every right implies a responsibility; every opportunity, an obligation; every possession, a duty"- John D.Rockefeller Jr

" International Schools CyberFair is an award-winning authentic learning program used by schools and youth organizations around the world. Youth conduct research and publish their findings on the Web. Recognition is given to the best projects in each of eight categories. This White House-endorsed program encourages youth to become community ambassadors by working collaboratively and using technology to share what they have learned. Students evaluate each other's projects by using a unique online evaluation tool."--GlobalSchoolnet.com
